The Porsche 912 has the 102 hp. flat 4-cylinder engine witch has earned a great reputation for durability. The hand-assembled aluminium alloy engine is air-cooled with heat-dissipating fins on cylinders. Blast of air from the large blower passes over the oil-cooler, lowering the temperature of oil before it reaches bearings. Automatic bypass valve prevents dry starts by sending oil directly to lubrication points, without going through cooler, until operating pressure is reached.
